Keeping Perspective.

Most of us hate Mondays. As much as we all have valid complaints every day, things that have us down, frustrate us, make us angry....
recent reports about the drought and famine in Somalia have really got me keeping perspective.
Not sure how many details you've heard about this situation, but I found this NPR report deeply saddening but helpful in understanding conditions there.
The photos coming out of Somali and Kenya are shocking, but important to look at, because the're reality.

It may feel there's not much to do, but in fact UNICEF is calling on the international community to help this situation. There are a couple things you can do to provide relief is this moves you as much as it moves me:

1. You can text FOOD to 864233 to donate $10 from the United States
2. You can visit the famine section of the UNICEF website here
3. OR you can just call 1-888-56-CHILD to donate.

We often feel helpless, but coming together in generosity is often one of the only good things that can come of such pain and hardship for others. I hope you'll consider donating, even it's only $5 instead of buying a fancy coffee. Or if you support other causes and don't feel you can do anything at this moment, that's okay too. Just try to remind yourself that probably a lot of those busy, "impossible" things that are stressing you out lately are going to be okay. Hopefully everyone reading this blog had a meal in their stomach today and as much water as they needed. And I don't know about you, but today, I'm feeling lucky for that.
Life is all about keeping perspective. Have a beautiful week!
